About Our Church
Hope In Christ Ministry is a Spirit-led Evangelical church plant in Joplin, Missouri, founded with a heart to reach “whosoever will” in the Four-State area and around the world. Rooted in the authority of Scripture, the power of the Holy Spirit, and a passion for evangelism, our fellowship offers a blend of traditional hymns and heartfelt worship music—“not only do we speak in tongues, but we pray in hymns”—creating a place where believers can experience both solid Bible teaching and genuine movements of God.
Our founding pastor knows firsthand what it means to be rescued by grace. Once a “lost soul,” he came to Christ in his forties and soon after sensed the Lord’s call into ministry. Since 2000, our Pastor has faithfully preached the Gospel. Attending Ozark Christian College, where he earned his degree, then continued his training in seminary. God has opened doors for him to minister in more than 200 churches across the country—Evangelical, Spirit-filled, and revival-focused congregations—before the Lord led him to plant Hope In Christ Ministry in Joplin in 2024.
Our Pastor holds credentials with both the Southern Baptist tradition and the Assemblies of God, a Holy Ghost denomination, reflecting the unique heartbeat of our church as followers of Christ in doctrine, conviction, worship, and experience. Today, Hope In Christ Ministry is growing as a local body while maintaining a global vision. Alongside our Joplin congregation, the ministry's current reach extends to Nairobi, Kenya; India; and parts of South America, where the Gospel is being preached, and lives are being changed.
Hope In Christ Ministry is blessed with a dedicated leadership team and church family, including three Board Members who help shepherd and guide the ministry.

We currently gather for services at the Dance Hall in Joplin, where we're building a warm, Christ-centered community. Our worship is moderately musical and traditional—rich in hymns, open to contemporary worship, and grounded in a desire to honor God rather than perform for people. We offer an alternative to the common Evangelical church, providing a space where you can still feel welcome, comfortable, and free to worship in spirit and in truth, with traditional hymnals and the piano.
The journey of planting Hope In Christ Ministry has come with its share of ups and downs, but through it all, God has been faithful. Our desire now is to build greater visibility in Joplin and the surrounding Four-State region, so that more people can encounter the hope, healing, and salvation found in Jesus.
